Summary:

Workshop #9 was the final, official workshop of the InterPARES Project. The Preservation Task Force met in order to continue the case study walk-through case study exercise that was begun in August. The task proved to be difficult without the use of a data model and because of a lack of adequate detail in the case study material. However, the attempt at a walk-through identified, among other things, the need for a generic preservation strategy, or framework. The Strategies Task Force meeting consisted of the discussion of the other task force reports, their distillation, and the creation of a draft report. This report was presented to the other task force members and the International Team members for comments. Over the course of the remaining days, the International Team and member of the task forces 1) voted on the reports of the Authenticity, Appraisal, and Preservation Task Forces, 2) reviewed and commented on the work of the Strategies Task Force, 3) produced a common outline for national and multinational team reports 4) divided into their respective national and multinational teams in order to discuss and work on their reports, 5) discussed the dissemination of the findings of the project.
