Summary:

Workshop #8 provided each task force with the opportunity to focus on its individual activities and to discuss overlapping issues with other task forces. The International Team was able to finalize a schedule to complete task force final reports and to synthesize their findings.

The Authenticity Task Force discussed the current versions of several documents, including the Draft requirements for authenticity, UCLA analysis of the first three rounds of case studies, case study overviews, functional analysis document, analysis of elements relating to the identity and integrity of case study data, typology development discussion document, diplomatic analyses of Round 4 of the case studies. In addition, the Authenticity Task Force worked on its final report and developed a common format for all task force final reports.

The Appraisal Task Force spent the majority of its meeting refining the model for public comment. The rest of the meeting consisted of discussions about the content and composition of final report of the Appraisal Task Force. The task force also discussed and refined terms and definitions that would be proposed to the Glossary Committee.

The Preservation Task Force reviewed portions of its model and made further revisions. The findings of the UCLA survey were presented and plans for a continuation were discussed. Members were given the opportunity to voice their opinions on the draft of the Preservation Task Force final report. There was a meeting of the Preservation Task Force and the Authenticity Task Force, in which common glossary terminology was discussed. In addition, the Preservation Task Force planned for an ad hoc meeting before the next Workshop and scheduled upcoming activities.

The Glossary Committee meeting was highly productive. Many terms and definitions were discussed and the system workflow was refined. Several changes were made to the workflow in order to speed up the process and to increase its efficiency. Deadlines were established also in order to accommodate the workflow changes.

The Strategies Task Force revised its action plan in order to accommodate deadline changes that were made by other task forces. It presented the new plan at the International Team meeting, where the plan was further revised. The International Team discussed the content and format of task force reports and drafted an agenda for the next workshop. The International Team discussed the events leading up to the final stages of the project and the transition to InterPARES 2. They also reviewed and edited the draft detailed proposal.
