moral rights n., Those rights that the author or creator retains (regardless of whether the author still retains the economic rights) over the integrity of a work (rights of reputation)—such that no one, even the copyright owner, is allowed to distort, mutilate or otherwise modify the work in a way that is prejudicial to the author’s honour or reputation; the right to be associated with the work as its author by name or under a pseudonym and the right to remain anonymous (rights of attribution); and the right to refuse to allow the work to be used in association with a product, service, cause or institution in a way that is prejudicial to the author’s honour or reputation (rights of association).   (See also: copyright, )
