[English Abstract: "Prof. Luciana Duranti is one of the most distinguished luminaries of global archival studies. Born in an Italian family where “almost everyone was a professor”, she received a thorough classical and historical education with a specialization in archival studies. She worked at the State Archives of Rome and lectured at the University of Rome. In 1987, she moved to Canada and has been working at the University of British Columbia ever since. Her knowledge and years of experience have allowed her to combine the medieval tradition of palaeography with cutting-edge technology. She has published papers on archival theory and methodology, and since 1999 has led the InterPARES project, possibly the longest-running international archival project. She actively combines Italian research traditions with Canadian, American, Australian, and Latin American concepts. In 2013, she launched the interactive Internet database known as MAT Multilingual Archival Terminology, which currently includes 23 languages thanks to multi-national cooperation."
